I'm very excited to bring you a couple of announcements:
I've finished a draft of a new novel, titled DIG TWO GRAVES. This is a fast-paced revenge thriller set in sunny southwest Florida, where I've been holed up for the past two months while working on it. Von Martin has just gotten out of prison after serving a four-year sentence for theft, and while he is determined to reunite and make a better life with his six-year-old daughter, Tara, he is equally resolved to discover who it was among his so-called friends and his former employers that set him up to take the fall. It's based pretty heavily on Naguib Mahfouz's very short 1961 novel, The Thief and the Dogs, which I greatly admire and highly recommend. More on that connection in the vlog linked above.
I recently had the opportunity to interview the author of one of my favorite novels, a novel that I knew would be among the first I profiled on The Aisle of Misfit Books. Before starting the channel, I had no idea this would even be possible, but while I was working on the script, I reached out to him--that's the only other hint you'll get, for now!--and he very generously agreed to sit down and chat with me, for over an hour. I'm presently editing this video, and hope to have it posted by the end of next week, at the latest.
I've posted a couple of videos on AMB in the past couple of months, some of which have done better than others. I'll include links below. More to come real soon!
